Flight Glasses
According to Nausicaa customs, boys are considered Me from the age of 13. On their coming to age ceremony, the chief would present them a pair of flight glasses made by the craftsmen of the tribe, which will accompany them for the rest of their life. They are to face unknown dangers through the glasses on each and every of their flights. "Put them on and you'll conquer your fear. You won't be afraid however fast you fly." The chieftain would often encourage the boys prior to their first flight. However, no one could promise you if they were to return alive.
