Suffering an uncurable disease, he sought help from the lamp spirit to extend his life. Harkrudy's only wish was to continue telling stories to children. The lamp spirit granted his wish at the cost of Harkrudy's soul being chained to this land forever, telling stories until the end of time... He watched the children grow up with his stories, witnessed people made dangerous wishes to the lamp spirit to satisfy their own desire, and heard the laughter and cries of Morroc. Harkrudy used to think that nothing could change. But children could grow up and leave, and stories could be forgotten.
